“Electromagnetic fields are present everywhere in our environment. Electric fields are produced by natural sources such as the local build-up of electric charges in the atmosphere associated with thunderstorms, while the earth’s magnetic field is used by birds and fish for navigation.”
“Human-made sources include medical equipment using static fields (e.g. MRI), electric appliances using low frequency electric and magnetic fields (50/60 Hertz), and various wireless, telecommunications and broadcasting equipment using high radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (100 kHz – 300 GHz).”
When properly used, electromagnetic fields greatly improve our quality of life, health and well-being. However, above certain levels, these fields can be harmful to health and affect the human body in different ways depending on their frequency. Therefore, countries have set standards to limit exposure to EMF’s” (World Health Organization).
Britannica defines electromagnetic fields as a “property of space caused by the motion of an electric charge. A stationary charge will produce only an electric field in the surrounding space. If the charge is moving, a magnetic field is also produced. An electric field can be produced also by a changing magnetic field.”
“The mutual interaction of electric and magnetic fields produces an electromagnetic field, which is considered as having its own existence in space apart from the charges or currents (a stream of moving charges) with which it may be related. Under certain circumstances, this electromagnetic field can be described as a wave transporting electromagnetic energy (www.britannica.com).”
“Biological rhythms, physical wellbeing and mental states are dependent on our electrical brainwave system interacting with the extremely weak electromagnetic fields generated by the Earth’s telluric and Cosmic radiations.”
In a single generation, since the evolution of humankind over millions of years, we are exposed to a wide range of powerful, artificially generated electromagnetic radiation which adversely affects the subtle balance in nature’s energy fields and has become the source of so-called ‘diseases of civilization’.”
This also includes electromagnetic sensitivity. We can help ourselves by learning how to detect the hazards and daily practise prudent avoidance” (T. Saunders, 2003 ‘Health Hazards and Electromagnetic Fields).
All man-made electromagnetic fields have the potential to cause great harm and disease to all plant and animal life, and in particularly us, especially now that our entire planet is being exponentially exposed to increasing intensities of EMF radiation. The four types of toxic EMF, all producing non-ionizing radiation, to be aware of are:
- Electric fields – generated from AC electrical devices
- Magnetic fields – generated from electrical wiring
- Dirty electricity – from poor building wiring and photovoltaic inverters.
- Radio frequency (RF) – microwave radiation from all wireless communications.
It is the aim of EMF Equip and this website to expose these very real and scientifically documented threats, and help illustrate how to protect ourselves as best possible.
